That's believable, though I'm more inclined to believe that they were rushed to come up with a nice neat ending -_-Â
I would've liked it if Ursa wasn't necessarily "forced", but charmed by Ozai and pressured by everyone into rushed marriage. During the early stages of their marriage, she thought she was happy and was loyal to him. However, he turned dark and obsessed with having "powerful kids" that would help him dethrone Iroh as next in line. Ursa tried remaining patient with him, but he was constantly petulant and had abusive tendencies. Then she realized he was far from "charming" and regretted marrying him, but they had kids now so she couldn't just run off. So she began seeking help to get herself and the kids out of Ozai's clutches, which included writing letters to her past. Ozai found out and got incredibly angry with her, bluffing that he had killed everyone from her past including her parents. Then the whole "Azulon orders Ozai to kill Zuko" thing happened.Â
Who was rushed? Mike and Bryan?
Yeah, that would've been a lot better. Than its current state.
Yeah.Â
It's annoying how much hate is Ursa is getting compared to all the love for the Search -_- I've been searching for a perfect reply to all the Ursa haters, and I finally found one:Â
"why is it, when one parent is abusive, we expect the other parent to pick up the slack? to be twice the parent, even when they themselves may also be a victim of suffering? why do we expect women to disappear into motherhood and blame them for a lack of complete utter devotion to children they were forced to conceive and deliver?Â
I'm not saying Ursa is perfect. quite the opposite, in fact, and that is awesome. in a universe where mothers are either dead, indifferent, or a fucking saint, we finally have a mother who did the best she could and still fell short. who couldn't save her kids, who couldn't keep living without them but couldn't see a way to save them. she fucked up! she couldn't see the future! she made the choice that at least promised her a little less pain than she'd lived with for years!"Â
Yeah, it is. I remember someone in the comments, said that "Ursa is being cruel to Ozai for not loving him."
Nice one!
It's rare to find a post like that on Tumblr.
Yeah, and like that blog said, I think its better to think of Kiyi as the daughter of Noriko and Noren-totally not related to Azula.Â
Yes, agreed.
^That makes me wish I had joined AW a lot sooner.
^Not bad.
